Texas Hold’em is just about people and position. All knowledgeable Texas Holdem players agree that position in no cap Hold’em is fundamentally important. Playing your hole cards in last spot might be much more beneficial than in early poker spot. This is because much more data is collected before acting.
As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash game at a local spot. I bumbled in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer button, so I could see a little action. Flop came down A-A-4. A player in starting spot made a $15 wager. 2 individuals drop out and it was now my turn. I should have dropped out, but his betting felt a tiny bit off. I read this player as a weak-tight person, and typically if he held the biggest hand he would just check, so I called.
The turn came down with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My opponent placed another wager of $20. I hesitated for a while, but took a chance to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars over and above his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I take the pot.
Betting at late position allows you an idea where you sit by observing how enthusiasts behave and wager. On the flip side, enthusiasts at early spot might use their poker spot to check-raise the late seated competitors and corner them afterwords at the end. In Holdem, each ends, last and early must be bet carefully.
